Two long-serving company directors have been recognised for their exceptional service to New Zealand business. Dame Margaret Bazley and Paul Hargreaves have been made Distinguished Fellows of the NZ Institute of Directors.
Paul is a founder and retired chief executive of Datacom Group Ltd, New Zealand’s largest domestically owned professional IT services enterprise. He was chairman of Antarctica New Zealand, the HiGrowth Project Trust (a Government-sponsored initiative to develop New Zealand’s ICT sector) and is currently chairman of a new start-up company, AllTeams Ltd.
His past directorships include Radio New Zealand, Gallagher Holdings Ltd and Software of Excellence International Ltd. Following the reform of the New Zealand public science sector in 1992, Paul was an inaugural board member of NIWA and chief executive from 1994 to 2002. He is a board member of Safer Families in New Zealand and is chairman of the GI Cancer Institute (NZ) Ltd. He was awarded an ONZM in 2007 for services to business and the community.
